In his first term as Councilor for Ward 7, Paul Katz hit the ground running. He has been a staunch advocate for his constituents and neighborhoods, addressing and facilitating issues including safety, traffic, blight, and quality of life.

He is committed to protecting the interests of our City and making sure that Waltham continues to have best-in-class services and well-funded education in order to be a sought-after desirable place to live as a homeowner, renter, or student. He approaches politics as a moderate, preferring to look at each issue on its individual merits to make fair and sensible decisions for all.

Paul first ran for City Council in 2021 because of a passion to stand up for his community. He is committed to follow-through and being responsive to every inquiry, going door-to-door to ensure that residents have his contact information and can receive updates. In his first term, he has hosted and/or participated in more than 20 community and neighborhood meetings.

Paul has been a resident of Waltham, both as renter and homeowner, for 25 years. He is married to Sharon Marie Grazioso Katz. Their son, Jacob, attended Stanley Elementary and McDevitt Middle Schools, and is currently a student at Waltham High School.

Professionally, Mr. Katz is a Senior Marketing Manager for Dun & Bradstreet, a global data and analytics company. He is a recognized marketing leader who has supported the growth of leading startups and established companies.

Additionally, Mr. Katz is an accomplished pianist and musician, having worked with Waltham’s Reagle Music Theatre for 40+ years as music director and conductor. He was recently music director for the critically acclaimed Boston productions of “The Prom” and “Fun Home,” both at SpeakEasy Stage Company of Boston.

Councilor Katz holds a degree in Economics from Brandeis University.

What do you love most about Waltham?

The many opportunities we offer our large and diverse population, including education, services, employment, recreation, and entertainment.

What would you change if you could?

I’d like to go back 100 years and approach planning with an understanding of the way it’s affecting us today.

What is one burning issue you plan to address if elected?

Continue serving the people I represent, focusing on what they feel are the burning issues.
